Prague is a beautiful and cheap city when it comes to hotels. Sleeping in the center of the Czech capital for 40 euros is possible in a medium-quality establishment, which would be practically impossible in other European cities.
The offer of restaurants in Prague is wide and the gastronomy is delicious. If kids aren't too reluctant to try new foods, they'll love soups, stews, and desserts.
Prague has a hotel offer adapted to all needs.
Hostels for the less buoyant economies, apartments, urban hotels and charming charming establishments.
Depending on the trip you want to make, you can choose one or the other option, knowing that districts 1 and 2 are the most central.
Therefore, these will be the most recommended areas to stay, especially if you travel with children, since they will not want to walk too much to go from one place to another.
Not so central but also very practical are districts 3, 4, 7 and 8 where you are likely to find even cheaper prices.
If what you are looking for is a luxurious stay, the Wenceslas Square area is the best for you and your family.
Food will not be a problem during your trip with children to Prague. The gastronomic offer is wide, the prices are not expensive and the restaurants remain open practically all day in the tourist areas.
Our recommendation is that you do not forget to try a typically Czech menu. You will easily find broths, meat dishes such as roast beef with cream sauce or roast duck and goulash in its many variants: a meat stew with vegetables.
Children will love the utopenec (sausages marinated with pepper and fried onions), the bramborak (fried potato dough tortillas) and, for dessert, the palačinky (crepes filled with ice cream, roasted fruit or jam).
The Old Town Square is possibly one of the most expensive settings to sit down to eat, but if instead of doing it outside contemplating the atmosphere of the environment, you do it inside the restaurant, the prices will drop considerably.
Even so, it is not difficult to find an affordable and pleasant corner where you can eat with your family enjoying delicious dishes. In Narodni street, next to the Legion Bridge, for example, you will see traditional restaurants that are not as touristy as those in the Old City.
Even if it is a family trip and you are with the children, Prague is an excellent place to enjoy a delicious beer. They are not only of very good quality but they are also cheap. In almost any place you can have a pint of beer for just over € 1.
The best known commercial beer is Pilsner Urquell, but in Prague, many locals make their own beer, so the variety is enormous.
